Lauren Fisher is a freelance dressage trainer proudly serving riders across the DFW metroplex and East Texas.
Not local? Not a problem. Lauren teaches regularly in hub locations throughout the Southern US, and yes—virtual lessons are absolutely a thing (and no, they're not weird or hard to set up). Whether you're prepping for a show or just need help surviving your sitting trot, we’ve got you covered.
* Lauren does not facilitate lesson horses at this time, you’ll need to provide a unicorn *
Show coaching and preparation.
Have lofty show goals? Puzzled as to why you can run through a test flawlessly at home, but whenever you leave the farm you flop like a fish and forget what a circle looks like? Curious as to why you’ve been stuck at Training level for what feels like an eternity?
Lauren specializes in taking the stress out of field trips and reminding you that—believe it or not—horse showing can actually be fun.
From test strategy to emotional triage at the warm-up ring, she's here to help you feel prepared, confident, and a little less feral with a coat on.
Cavaletti strength training.
Want to improve your horse’s balance, coordination, and topline without really leaving the ground? No jumping tack or prior experience required—just a willingness to show up and sweat (a little).
Cavaletti work is Lauren’s not-so-secret weapon for developing strength, rhythm, and rider feel. With a never-ending arsenal of exercises and a ‘slightly sadistic’ sense of humor, you’ll build confidence while your horse builds muscle—and you’ll never be bored doing it.
Lauren is always excited to work with new riders- whether you're a seasoned FEI competitor on a schoolmaster, an eventer looking make peace with “the boring phase,” or a complete beginner who’s still not sure if they’re pronouncing “dressage” correctly.
Whatever your background or goals, Lauren’s here to help you move forward—with clarity, confidence, and just enough wit to keep things interesting.
Seat lessons.
Ever seen a photo or video of your riding and immediately wished you could… unsee it?
Let Lauren take you back to the basics—because even the most experienced riders occasionally need to be reminded to put their hands down, look up, and act like their mother’s watching.
From learning how to sit the trot, to cantering without stirrups, to refining posture on the lunge line- Lauren will help you feel the burn, embrace the jiggle, and laugh through every obscure analogy she throws your way until you sit like a pro.
Building confidence.
Being self-proclaimed ‘scaredy-pants’ in her early career, Lauren divulged into the questions “why am I afraid? why do horse shows make me want to vomit? why do I occasionally cry when moving faster than a snail’s pace?”
Overcoming fear takes patience, humor, and someone in your corner who gets it.
Whether your goal is to canter without crying, go on a trail ride without hyperventilating, or simply feel brave enough to ride again, Lauren will meet you where you are with compassion, a clear plan, and probably a questionable metaphor about seatbones and soup.
“Dressage isn’t for me.”
“Dressage is boring.”
“My horse hates this.”
We get it, dressage has a bit of a PR problem.
It’s often painted as elitist, inaccessible, or… let’s be honest, boring as hell.
There’s this idea that you need to drill circles endlessly, own a saddle that costs more than your truck, or have a warmblood from overseas just to participate.
When was the last time you used “fun” and “dressage” in the same sentence?
Lauren’s goal is simple: to make you a better rider, regardless of discipline.
From endurance riders, to hunter/jumpers, to foxhunters—oh my!—Lauren wants you to succeed in whatever kind of saddle brings you joy. Because no matter your goals, everyone benefits from better control, clearer communication, and a deeper partnership with their horse.
Accidentally squeezing in that extra stride? (dressage)
Can’t turn left? (dressage)
Feeling like your horse has three gears and two of them are chaos? (…dressage)
We can fix that. And we can make it fun.
Lauren keeps things interesting by working inside and outside the 20x60 sandbox, with and without stirrups, sometimes over poles, and always with a laugh.
So let her change the way you think about the sport—and who knows?
You might just find yourself joining the dark side.

Clarity. Connection. Confidence.
(and a damn good half-halt)
